Classes

All of our trainers adhere to the Code of Conduct, laid down by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), which involves training methods which are kind, fair and effective, therefore we DO NOT USE choke/check chains or electric collars. Training dogs has changed a great deal in the last few years. It is no longer considered necessary, or acceptable, to use harsh methods in training, and the use of gentle, motivational methods are as successful as they are enjoyable to use.

Pay and Train (PaT) Classes

These classes are open to EVERYONE who is a member of Paws 4 Fun. Classes are held on the first Tuesday evening of each month, starting at 7.00pm, with a "coffee break & biccies". (Please note NO CLASSES DURING AUGUST).

The classes give everyone a chance to do something different - trainers will endeavour to publish the "title" of their class in the current Newsletter. If you are interested, please call the relevant trainer (just in case the class has been postponed).

These classes are small, friendly and fun. Why not pop along and see what its all about.

UK Rally - Pay and Train (PaT) Classes

On the third Tuesday of each month (but not in August), we are hosting classes for handlers and dogs to practice the sport of Dog Rally:

What is Rally?

Dog and handler team navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform such as, Sit Down Sit, Staight figure 8, Send over Jump, Recall over Jump, Left Turn. Teams navigate the course at a brisk continuous performance without direction from the judge. Handlers are encouraged to talk to their dogs during the performance.

All dogs, purebred, mixed breed and dogs with disabilities are encouraged to participate.

The aim of this new activity gives owners a chance to take part in this new sport with a view to registering and competing for Rally titles and awards.
